Convict Road Gangs, Road Parties and Iron'd Gangs 1827-1830 has been indexed from the original records State Records NSW 1827-1830 ([9/2689]; microfilm copy SR Reel 590) vol. 1. It is available as on CD or as a book. The index contains the date of the report, the name of the ship the convict arrived on and any names that are present for each record. It is in Microsoft Excel format and sorted in date order and also alphabetically by name. The page number that refers to the original file is also included to lead you to the original reports.
The original reports are usually monthly. They list the various road gangs, detailing place stationed and overseer; and for each convict, his number, name, ship, job, casualties, discharge etc. There are also weekly reports of road parties and iron'd gangs under the direction of the Surveyor General, 1830.
