Commissions of the Peace (Justices of the Peace) list the name and full address of each Commission of the Peace (Justice of the Peace or JP) appearing on Letters Patent.  Volume 3 covers 1936-1958.

Although the Letters Patent are NSW records they include JP's from all Australian states and a few other countries. These indexes are in Microsoft Excel format and available on CD or as a book.

The original certificates bear the Governor's signature and were enrolled in the Supreme Court of NSW. While some of the Letters Patent are individual appointments, others have up to 1200 names appointed at one time (listed on one page).
